Aug 25 ,2009 (newstodate): The Moscow-based Russian carrier Region Avia has embarked on an ambitious fleet expansion plan.
The carrier currently operates a fleet comprising eight Embraer 120 delivered till the end of this year and eight AN-28 aircraft, but plans are to grow to 42 aircraft from the end of 2011 till eaerly 2012.
Behind the fleet expansion is a new strategy developed with assistance from Lufthansa Consulting that has identified potential new destinations in currently under-served aviation markets in Russia.
