Aug 13, 2009 (newstodate): Plans are underway for the launch of a new Russian airline, AIRkaim.
The new airline will be based at Ufa Airport, serving the Russian republic of Kashkortostan with air services after the demise in 2007 of the republic's national carrier, BAL Bashkirian Airlines that went bankrupt.
AIRkaim is soon to receive its AOC and plans are to get airborne by the end of 2009 with a fleet to comprise Boeing and Airbus aircraft as well as western-built regional aircraft.
