Aug 24, 2009 (newstodate): Russia's S7 Cargo has contracted IBS Software to implement its iCargo cargo management solution.
The S7 Cargo has chosen iCargoNet that will be hosted from IBS' data centres.
The new system will support both S7 Cargo and the cargo department of the airline's subsidiary, Globus Airline.
Cargo is a significant business for S7 Sibir Airlines that handled a total of 14,843 tonnes of cargo and mail during this year's H1, securing a position as the 5th largest cargo carrier in Russia.
The carrier's volumes are primarily domestic cargo where S7 was rated #2 with 13,328 tonnes of cargo and mail in H1/2009, immediately after Aeroflot Cargo with 13,905 tonnes.
