Aug 25, 2009 (newstodate): The Finnish government has named the Latvian carrier airBaltic the winner of tenders for passenger transportation along eight flight routes over the next three years.
The contract takes effect from September 1, 2009, and comprises travels by representatives of the Finnish government on routes between Helsinki on one end and Tallinn, Moscow, St Petersburg, Riga, Stavanger and Vilnius on the other, as well as airBaltic flights between Tampere and Zurich and Turku and Paris.
In Finland, airBaltic serves the airports of Helsinki, Tampere, Turku, Oulu and Kuopio, and from October 1, 2009, airBaltic will launch flights between Turku and Tallinn as its first connection between Estonia and Finland.
airBaltic also offers domestic passenger flights in Finland between Kuopio and Tampere, and Oulu and Turku.
