Aug 04, 2009 (newstodate): Korean Air Cargo's third weekly freighter flight through Sweden's Stockholm Arlanda Airport to Korea took an early summer leave after only three weeks of service.
The 3rd frequency was launched on June 7, 2009, but services were suspended on June 28 already, and resumption of services is now planned from September 1, 2009, if still in the plans by the HQ.
The original two weekly rotations, operating since August 24, 2006, are continuing as planned.
Two of the three flights after June 7 are departing from Amsterdam, while the third flies into Stockholm from Vienna, allowing the Swedish market to share the capacity with other European markets.
As has been the case in almost all other markets, the IATA airfreight export from Sweden to Korea has been strongly affected by the current downturn, with volumes dropping 26.4 percent, y-o-y, during this year's Q1, to 520 tonnes.
