Aug 05, 2009 (newstodate): Lufthansa Consulting has been selected by the Russian carrier Yakutia Airlines to manage the airline's IOSA certification process.
As part of the contract, Lufthansa Consulting has deployed a team of aviation consultants to Yakutia Airlines' headquarters in Yakutsk, Russia.
In the coming five to six months the experts will provide hands-on assistance to the carriers management in order to bring all relevant documentation and operational standards in line with the stringent international standards.
Yakutia Airlines operates domestic passenger services in Russia and within the CIS, as well as charters to destinations in Europe from its hubs at Yakutsk Airport and Moscow's Vnukovo Airport with a fleet of 42 aircraft, mainly Soviet-built, but also including three Boeing 757-200 aircraft leased from Icelandair, as well as one Boeing 737-700 aircraft.
