Aug 07, 009 (newstodate): Estonia's Tallinn Airport cannot draw much comfort from the latest figures on air cargo volumes.
The airport handled a total of 1,168 tonnes of cargo in July, which was a sustained decline by 66 percent, y-o-y.
Only one month in 2009, April, has performed worse when volumes dipped 81.7 percent, but all months have so far been in the red with negative growth.
After the first seven months, total volumes at Tallinn Airport are now 10.994 tonnes, down 54.4 percent, y-o-y.
The airport relies heavily on ex-China trans-shipments destined for Russia; a traffic that is badly hit by the ongoing economic crisis and weakening demand in Russia.
