Aug 19, 2009 (newstodate): Plans are on the table for modernisation and expansion of Croatia's Zadar Airport.
The airport's passenger terminal has exceeded its design capacity, serving a total of 160,000 passengers in 2008, an increase by 32 percent, y-o-y.
In the first phase, 500 sq m will be added to the current domestic terminal and dedicated to serving domestic traffic, while the current domestic area will be reserved for international traffic.
In a second phase from 2011, the international area will be expanded, and the airport's 2,500 m runway will be expanded.
