Aug 13, 2009 (newstodate): Czech airline CSA has announced plans for launching scheduled service from Prague to Tashkent, Uzbekistan.
Effective from August 19 2009, the carrier will offer two weekly rotations, using Airbus A319 aircraft on the route.
With a transfer in Prague, the Tashkent route will provide passengers from Central Asia with onward connections to destinations in Europe, and passengers from Western Europe will gain a new link to destinations in Central Asia.
Central Asia as well as the Russian Federation and trans-Caucasian republics are considered to be important and promising markets for Czech Airlines that plans to open up more new destinations within this area.
CSA launched the Prague-Tashkent service on July 3, 2009, operated temporarily charter flights, while a MoU with the Uzbek side was signed on August 6, 2009, opening up for the new regular scheduled service.
