Aug 03, 2009 (newstodate): During the first seven months of this year, cargo volumes at Denmark's Billund Airport dropped 23.9 percent, y-o-y, to a total of 25,021 tonnes.
Import volumes were down 21.5 percent, and exports fell by 25.8 percent during the period.
Some consolation may, however, be found in the fact that the decline leveled out to 15.1 percent, y-o-y, in July, 2009, when volumes were 4,233 tonnes.
In July, the decline in import volumes was "only" 9.4 percent, while exports were down 19.4 percent, also relatively better than the year's total, indicating that the worst of the recession may have been passed.
