Aug 17, 2009 (newstodate): Belarus carrier Belavia has added another Boeing 737 aircraft to its fleet.
The latest addition, received on August 5, 2009, is an ex-flyLAL Boeing 737-500 aircraft, acquired on a leasing arrangement with International Lease Finance Corporation.
The carrier had earlier announced the completion of its fleet expansion program for 2009, but increased market demand and new routes from Minsk to Beirut and Amsterdam, both launched in August, made the further acquisition necessary, also prompted by today's favorable leasing rates.
Belavia's aircraft fleet now consists of five Boeing 737-500, three Boeing 737-300, three CRJ100/200, four TU 154-M, and one TU-134 aircraft.
