Aug 18, 2009 (newstodate): Baltic Aviation Academy, part of the Lithuanian aviation business group Avia Solutions Group, plans to expand its capability list by setting up a new full-flight simulator in Vilnius.
Pending the completion a on-going market research to identify the most pertinent demand for specific aircraft training, Baltic Aviation Academy will decide on the type of simulator to be added.
Ranging high on the list is currently training on either ATR-42 or Boeing 757-200 aircraft.
-Our Boeing 737-300/400/500 full-flight simulator is being successfully used for type rating courses for pilots of various airline companies, says Lina Rutkauskiene, Baltic Aviation Academy CEO.
-After closely monitoring processes in the Eastern Europe and neighbouring countries, we plan to offer our clients more type rating courses with full flight simulators in Vilnius, says Ms Rutkauskiene.
The Academy currently provides type rating courses for seven aircraft types, but today only the Boeing 737-300/400/500 aircraft pilots are able to undergo their practical training in Vilnius.
In 2009, Baltic Aviation Academy has added Macedonian Airlines, Aerosvit, Belavia, JET Time, and the Ukrainian Training Centre IATC to its list of airline customers.
