Jul 01, 2009 (newstodate): At Helsinki Vantaa Airport, Finnish customs have confiscated shipments of Russian-made aircraft equipment from the Indian Air Force, destined for Moscow.
The shipments arrived on the Finnair flight from Mumbai to Helsinki on May 28, 2009, but are still in the custody of the Finnish customs while Indian diplomats negotiate for their release with the Finnish authorities.
The shipments weighing a total of 1,700 kilo were sent via an Indian freight forwarder who has failed to provide the valid documentation required for the transportation.
