Jul 27, 2009 (newstodate): Total export air cargo on IATA carriers from the Danish market dropped about 30 percent during this year's first quarter, according to CASS statistics.
During the period the Danish IATA export airfreight market generated 13,558 tonnes of cargo, which was 29.9 percent down, y-o-y.
The single most important IATA export cargo area remained North America with 3,269 tonnes of cargo, down 41.6 percent, y-o-y, and constituting 24.1 percent of the total volume in Q1.
With 13 percent of the total volumes, the Middle East was second with 1,762 tonnes after falling 10.8 percent, y-o-y, closely followed by China that generated a total of 1,755 tonnes, down 28 percent y-o-y.
South East Asian volumes were next with 1,262 tonnes, down 25.4 percent and constituting 9.3 percent of the total IATA export airfreight market.
Measured on total turnover, the Danish IATA airfreight market dropped by 31.6 percent, y-o-y, through the Q1, as rates declined even more than loads in the market.
