Jul 28, 2009 (newstodate): Danish aircraft leasing company Nordic Aviation Capital is bent on continued global expansion.
After having set up a new subsidiary in Singapore as the company's first permanent office outside of Europe, NAC is now reportedly on the look-out to expand with a new representation in Cambodia, to be opened before the end of this year.
As part of its preparations, a delegation from NAC will visit Cambodia on a fact-finding mission in October.
Cambodia represents an attractive business opportunity as the country launched its new national carrier, Cambodia Angkor Air, a JV with Vietnam Airlines, at Phnom Phen International Airport on July 27, 2009.
The country has not had any national airline since 2001 when Royal Air Cambodge folded its wings after amassing a pile of debts.
Cambodia Angkor Air will initially operate two ATR-72-500 aircraft.
NAC, based at Billund Airport, is the world's largest turboprop lessor with 24 airline customers in 20 countries.
