July 28, 2009 (newstodate): The new international passenger terminal currently under construction at Armenia's Yerevan Zvartnots Airport will become operational by early 2011.
Construction of the new terminal, estimated to cost about USD 160 mio, was initiated in 2008, and when finished the 34,000 sq m terminal will provide the capacity of serving up to three mio passengers annually.
Zvartnots International Airport is operated under a 30-year concession with Armenia International Airports, CJSC, owned by Eduardo Eurnekian, an Argentine of Armenian origins.
