Jul 28, 2009 (newstodate): Once a rare sight, Airbus A380 is now calling at 12 international airports around the world.
The latest new airport to be included on the A380 global route map is Hong Kong, served from July 9, 2009, by Singapore Airlines with a daily rotation from Singapore.
Singapore Airlines was the first airline to introduce the Airbus A380 in commercial service in 2007 and took delivery of its ninth A380 in July.
Other current A380 operators are Emirates that now has five aircraft in its fleet, and Qantas that currently operates three A380 aircraft.
Besides Singapore and Hong Kong, the A380 is now operating scheduled services to Auckland, Bangkok, Dubai, London, Los Angeles, Melbourne, Paris, Sydney, Tokyo and Toronto.
