Jun 23, 209 (newstodate): Following on its bankruptcy and the loss of its AOC in January, 2009, the Swedish carrier Nordic Airways is now readying to take off again.
The airline has now obtained its AOC again and plans to operate an MD-80 aircraft on routes from Sweden to Iraq and the Middle East, targeting the ethnic traffic market, but will also provide capacity to charter operators and perform wet-lease and ad-hoc operations.
August 9, 2007, an MD-87 from Nordic Airways reported a suspected attack on their aircraft after take-off from Sulaimaniyah Airport, and this temporarily put an end to Swedish air traffic to Iraq.
