Jun 18, 2009 (newstodate): The future of Sweden's Jonkopoing Axamo Airport has now been decided: the local communal government will take over the airport from the current state owner, LFV, with effect from December 1, 2009.
The change of ownership is seen as a major boost to efforts to enhance the development of the airport and strengthening the marketing potentials both as to passenger and cargo flights.
The Jonkoping local government will now set up two companies, one to manage the physical airport infrastructure, and another to take responsiblity for operations and commercial development with participation from interested parties.
