Jun 12. 2009 (newstodate): All lights are green for the start on June 14, 2009, of operations on the new route between New York and Tirana, Albania.
The new service will be provided by Scanderbeg Air with a Boeing 767-200 aircraft operated by Sky King Inc.
The successful test flight for the new route took place on June 1, 2009, when an aircraft took off from New York JFK to land in Tirana International Airport.
-This new service presents a great opportunity not only for Albania and its residents, but also the Albanian community living in the US, all of whom now have the chance to travel directly back to or from their home country to meet their relatives or go on business, says Andrea Gebbeken, Tirana International Airport CEO.
