Jun 02, 2009 (newstodate): According to official figures from Sweden's LFV, air cargo volumes are drastically down in 2009.
In April 2009 Stockholm Arlanda Airport handled a total of 5,159 tonnes of international and domestic cargo, down 47.6 percent, y-o-y.
Through the first four months of this year, total cargo volumes handled at the airport were 21,777 tonnes, a decline by 37.5 percent.
The figures thus indicate that the negative growth in volumes at Sweden's capital airport has not yet culminated.
LFV statistics only comprise flown cargo, however, excluding cargo on trucks, so the full picture will only be known when the long-overdue more detailed and comprehensive statistics are eventually available.
