Jun 25, 2009 (newstodate): Serbia's Belgrade Nikola Tesla Airport is performing above general standards as to air cargo volumes in 2009.
During January-May 2009 the airport has handled a total of 2,759 tonnes of cargo, which is "only" 11 percent down on the preceding year.
May 2009 was actually on a par with last year, totaling 638 tonnes of cargo, and both January and March 2009 were above last year's levels, with an increase by 10 and eight percent, y-o-y, respectively.
The airport's mail volumes are also only four percent below last year's levels, totaling 407 tonnes during the first five months of this year
