Jun 11, 2009 (newstodate): The Scandinavian countries have signed a new air services agreement with Singapore on June 10, 2009.
Air services negotiations were held between Singapore and the three Scandinavian countries in Singapore in January 2008, and the Parties agreed to sign new and more liberal bilateral Air Services Agreements replacing the existing ones from 1966.
According to the new Air Services Agreements, airlines from both the Scandinavian countries and Singapore may operate between any points in Scandinavia and Singapore via and further on to any intermediate points, without limitations with regard to capacity, number of flights or type of aircraft.
The new agreements also allow airlines from the two sides to set up a cargo hub in the territory of the other party.
Denmark, Norway and Sweden enter into separate bilateral Air Services Agreements with Singapore, but the Agreements are in principle identical.
