Jun 03, 2009 (newstodate): As a result of a business transfer contract signed on June 1, 2009, the operations of SAS Ground Services Finland will be transferred to ISS Palvelut Oy.
All 334 staff of SGS Finland will be transferred to ISS Palvelut by the beginning of July when ISS Palvelut will provide SAS and its subsidiary Blue1 with ground services in Finland.
SGS Finland is the second-largest company in Finland providing ground services for air traffic. Over 250 of its employees work at the Helsinki Vantaa airport, and the rest are based in five other airports in Finland.
The business transfer contract is a result of the Core SAS strategy where the SAS Group is to sell off all non-core business activities to rein-in costs and focus on core aviation activities.
