Jun 25, 2009 (newstodate): Russia's Koltsovo Airport has been granted Cat I status by ICAO following a series of airport infrastructure projects.
The reconstruction of the airport's main runway started in 2008 and was completed this year, being extended to 3,004 m and equipped with new ILS by Italian provider OCEM.
Also a new ATM control center has been commissioned at the airport allowing for air traffic to be handled even under adverse weather conditions.
