Jun 15, 2009 (newstodate): Norway's Oslo Gardermoen may be seeing a slight recovery in its air cargo volumes, January-May 2009.
In May the airport handled a total of 6,391 tonnes of cargo which was a decline by 16.8 percent, y-o-y.
The drop in May was, however, less than the over-all fall in volumes during January-May 2009 that reached 18.3 percent, y-o-y, with 32,674 tonnes.
In May 2009 the airport's total international cargo was down 20.7 percent y-o-y, to 3,951 tonnes, while domestic cargo volumes fell 9.5 percent to 2,440 tonnes.
Summing up performance through January to May, 2009, international volumes were down 24 percent to 19,733 tonnes, while domestic cargo volumes dropped 7.8 percent to 12,942 tonnes.
