Jan 02, 2009 (newstodate): From June 1, 2009, Russia's Krasnoyarsk Airport is the technical stop-over hub for Lufthansa Cargo's freighter flights to China, replacing Astana, Kazakhstan.
Freighter flights between Frankfurt and China will now pass through Krasnoyarsk, and when the relocation has been completed cargo to and from Astana will be carried on Lufthansa passenger aircraft.
As agreed between Lufthansa Cargo and Krasnoyarsk, the airport has upgraded its ILS systems from CAT I to CAT II, allowing for better up-time performance.
As of August 2009, 22 weekly flights by Lufthansa Cargo will be handled at the new hub in Krasnoyarsk.
