Jun 09, 2009 (newstodate): Latvian carrier airBaltic is now online with Tajikistan as the only EU and European carrier to offer direct services.
The airline opened its new route between Riga and Dushanbe, Tajikistan, on June 1 and now provides two weekly flights on the route with Boeing 737 aircraft.
The flights will be operated in cooperation with the new privately-owned Tajik carrier Somon Air that launched its first flight on the route between Dushanbe and Moscow in February, 2008.
The cooperation will provide passengers on the two airlines' network to proceed on routes in Europe and in the CIS.
