Jun 15, 2009 (newstodate): Kazakhstan's Air Astana is today performing its opening flight on a new route from Astana, Kazakhstan, to Novosibirsk, Russia.
The route will be served three times weekly with Fokker 50 aircraft.
The new flights are part of the carrier's strategy of developing regional air services in Central Asia and CIS countries, with new routes to Bishkek, Kyrgyzstan, and Baku, Azerbaijan, as other elements added in 2009.
On the table are now new routes from Kazakhstan to Omsk and Yekaterinburg, Russia.
To serve this strategy, Air Astana will add two two Embraer 190 by 2011.
