Jun 05, 2009 (newstodate): The German company Hochtief has been announced as the winner of the Moldovan tender for detailing design works preparation within Chisinau's Airport Modernization Project II.
The EBRD is considering a 19 million euro loan to reconstruct Moldova's Chisinau International Airport.
The proceeds will be used for the rehabilitation and upgrade of the existing runway, taxiways, aprons and other connected core assets of the airport.
Tendering for civil works and goods contracts will start upon completion of the detailed technical design and is planned for the third quarter of 2009.
The works to be performed include rehabilitation of the 3,590 m runway and a new runway lighting system, taxiways and aprons also including lighting, and an upgrade of the airport terminal building.
