Jun 26, 2009 (newstodate): Northern Capital Gateway consortium, in which Fraport holds a 35.5 percent share, has emerged as the preferred bidder in the tender for operating Pulkovo Airport, Russia's fourth largest airport, from 2010.
The current owner and operator of Pulkovo Airport, St Petersburg's city government is expected to sign the 30-year concession contract with Northern Gateway before the end of this year.
Under the contract, the consortium undertakes responsibility for developing, modernizing and operating the airport of Russia's second largest city, with the construction of a new passenger terminal, expanded ramp areas, and modernization of the existing airport infrastructure to be comprised by the first phase of the long-term project.
