Jun 24, 2009 (newstodate): The Armenian carrier Armavia is planning to launch flights on a new route to Italy.
With first flight on July 15, 2009, the carrier will offer one weekly connection between Yerevan and Rome, but plans for a second weekly rotation are already on the table.
The new route will be the first direct flight between the two countries "in 2,500 years of history", as the carrier rightly claims.
