Jun 03, 2009 (newstodate): After April's unusual land-slide fall, Estonia's Tallinn Airport seems to have recovered in cargo volumes in May, 2009.
While volumes in April dropped by no less than 82 percent, y-o-y, to a low 704 tonnes, volumes in May were 1,890 tonnes, down 54 percent and more in line with this troubled year's trend.
Through January-May 2009, Tallinn's cargo volumes totaled 8.309 tonnes, a decline by 50 percent, compared to 2008.
The airport's cargo is primarily ex-China export shipments destined for Russia and transiting through Tallinn. The unusual drop in May was reportedly due to communication problems with Russian customs.
