Jun 16,2009 (newstodate): Work has now started on the construction of a new passenger terminal at Budapest Ferihegy Airport.
The new 200 mio euro terminal, named SkyCourt, is to be located between the existing Terminals 2A and 2B, and the project involves the construction of 40,000 sq m of new terminal areas and the renovation of 55,000 sq m of existing facilities.
The airport plans to commission parts of the new terminal by the end of 2010 already, and the total project will comprise 28 new passenger security screening channels, 50 new border crossing points, 21 new boarding gates, 80 new check-in counters, and 16 new self-check-in kiosks.
