Jun 02, 2009 (newstodate): The Latvian carrier airBaltic is preparing to take in its new fleet of Bombardier Q400 NewGen aircraft from this year.
airBaltic will take delivery of a total of eight Dash-8 Q400 aircraft, starting from November, 2009, and running through eight months.
The new aircraft will in time replace the current fleet of Boeing 737 aircraft, but current leasing rates are so low that the Boeing aircraft will remain for some time still.
The carrier will also continue to operate its Fokker F50 fleet till 2013, considering the aircraft a fantastic success in building new routes with low density.
