Jun 30, 2009 (newstodate): Armenia's Yerevan Zvartnots International Airport experienced a significant drop in cargo volumes during the first five months of this year.
The airport handled a total of 658 tonnes of export cargo, down 36 percent, y-o-y, during January-May, 2009.
In the same period, Zvartnots handled 1,796 tonnes of cargo import shipments, down 26 percent compared to the same period in 2008.
Passenger-wise, the airport fared better with a decline by "only" seven percent, y-o-y, to 446,910 passengers.
