Jun 22, 2009 (newstodate): Despite low expectations in the industry for major moves at this year's Paris Airshow, Airbus could return home to Toulouse with all dreams fulfilled.
Airbus managed to land orders and commitments for a total of 127 aircraft, including 58 firm orders and 69 commitments in the form of MoUs.
Not surprisingly, the firm orders were all from carriers in the Middle East and Asia, including 10 Airbus A350 and 48 Airbus A3220 Family aircraft.
Airbus also signed MoUs for delivery of A320, A330 and A350 aircraft, with Turkish Airlines as the only European carrier to sign on the dotted lines for acquisition of seven A330 aircraft.
By contrast, Boeing saw no comfort from the Paris Airshow.
