May 07, 2009 (newstodate): The Ukrainean state plans to put its shares in the airline Ukraine International Airlines up for sale before the end of this year.
The Ukrainean State Property Fund owns 61.58 percent of the shares in the airline where Austrian Airlines holds 22.5 percent and the Irish investment company AerCap six percent. The remaining 9.9 percent are owned by EBRD.
Based at Kiev, UIA operates a 17 Boeing 737 aircraft of various types, and flies to 24 destinations in Ukraine, Europe and the Middle East.
