May 19, 2009 (newstodate): The Russian carrier UTAir saw its cargo and mail volumes sliding during the first four months of 2009.
The carrier handled a total of 2,537 tonnes of cargo during January-April, a decrease by 27.4 percent, y-o-y.
Mail volumes were halved to 404 tonnes in the period.
UTair, based at Khanty-Mansiysk, is also Russia's largest rotary-wing operator, and one of the world's four largest in its field, and total cargo volumes lifted by the carrier's helicopters were up by 24.2 percent, to 6,313 tonnes.
