May 19, 2009 (newstodate): After a prolonged period of suspension of operations, Russia's Bryansk Airport is now cleared for resumption of services.
The airport, some 380 km southwest from Moscow, has been renovated in cooperation between the Bryansk regional government and the Russian airport investment company Novaport.
In June, 208, work started on a comprehensive re-development of the airport including buildings, infrastructure and runway and equipment.
The airport can now handle aircraft including TU 154, IL 76 and regional aircraft like the Embraer.
In Novaport's network are also the airports at Tomsk, Novosibirsk, Chelyabinsk, Chita, Barnaul, Tver, and Astrakhan.
