May 06, 2009 (newstodate): From this summer the Latvian carrier airBaltic is opening flights to its third destination in Lithuania, and to its fifth destination in Finland.
Effective from July 4, 2009, the carrier will launch twice-daily flights from Riga, Latvia, to Kaunas in Lithuania, and from July 7, 2009, the start of four weekly flights flights from Riga to Turku, Finland, will follow.
airBaltic already operates flights from Riga to Vilnius and Palanga in Lithuania, as well as to Helsinki, Kuopia, Oulu, and Tampere in Finland.
From July 1, 2009, airBaltic is also opening three weekly flights from Riga to Geneva, Switzerland.
Other new destinations by airBaltic opened from Riga in 2009 include Tromso, Norway, Linkoping in Sweden, Palanga in Lithuania, and Dushanbe in Tajikistan.
