May 07, 2009 (newstodate): Latvian carrier airBaltic is happy with its fleet of ex-SAS Commuter Fokker 50 aircraft.
The carrier operates a fleet of 10 Fokker 50 aircraft, and although they not state of the art, their role in airBaltic's fleet is still secured.
-The Fokker 50 is a fantastic aircraft, well-suited to our network of regional routes. The aircraft will remain in service until at least 2013, says Bertolt Flick, airBaltic president and CEO.
In the meantime airBaltic will receive the first of eight new Dash Q400NG aircraft in November, 2009, with deliveries to continue over eight months.
All aircraft in airBaltic's fleet are leased.
