May 28, 2009 (newstodate): IATA's airfreight accounting system CASS, was first presented to airlines and forwarders in the Baltic markets by November, 2007, but the speed of the implementation process has been rather slow.
June 1, 2009, has now been set as the launch date for CASS in Estonia, the last Baltic market to implement the air cargo accounting and reporting system, and first among the airlines to push the process are Finnair, airBaltic and SAS.
-Hopes are that Estonian Air will also soon be attracted by the services provided to members of CASS, says Ulla Nilson, CASS Nordic & Baltic manager.
All airlines that subscribe to CASS can now send data in the Baltic markets at no extra cost as Estonia, Latvia and Lithuania are part of CASS Nordic & Baltic.
