May 20, 2009 (newstodate): Korean Air Cargo plans to up frequency at Stockholm Arlanda Airport, adding a Sunday flight from June 7, 2009.
Until August 24, 2006, the carrier served the Swedish market through its hub at Copenhagen Airport, but moved two of its earlier five weekly Boeing 747-400F flights from Copenhagen to Stockholm.
Already from 2004, the carrier also moved into Norway, opening with three weekly flights from Oslo Gardermoen Airport lifting primarily Norwegian salmon exports to markets in the Far East.
-Even if the market is still in recession, we are confident that now is the time to position ourselves to be prepared for the upturn to follow, and our flights from Stockholm are actually performing with satisfactory load factors, says Carina Palmgren, Korean Air Cargo sales manager Sweden and Finland.
-Two of our three flights after June 7 are departing from Amsterdam, and the third flies into Stockholm from Vienna, so we share the capacity with other European markets, and that grants us the flexibility we need to meet our targets, says Ms Palmgren.
