May 25, 2009 (newstodate): Starting from June 15, the German LCC Blue Wings is back in the Russian skies after having been grounded by the German authorities.
Blue Wings will offer flights on new routes between Moscow and German destinations Munster, Leipzig and Baden-Baden, while the flights between Moscow and Dusseldorf, the hub of Blue wings, will be resumed as well.
Blue Wings is owned 49 percent by a Russian billionaire who also owns the Russian LCC Red Wings, based at Moscow Vnukovo Airport.
The carrier that operates a fleet of 10 Airbus A320 aircraft was grounded in April 2009 as the German authorities revoked the carrier's AOC over allegations of unspecified "business and financial problems".
