May 05, 2009 (newstodate): Effective from June 12, 2009, Sky Georgia plans to launch a new route from Tbilisi, Georgia, to Budapest, Hungary, and Berlin, Germany.
The carrier will operate three weekly services with DC-9-51 aircraft, but does not have traffic rights for the leg Budapest-Berlin.
Sky Georgia, based at Tbilisi Airport, was formerly named GN Airlines Georgia and was re-named after its acquisition in October 2008 by the US investment fund Sky Group.
Among the new projects initiated by the new owners is the planned acquisition of a Boeing 767 aircraft to launch flights between Georgia and New York, USA.
