May 20, 2009 (newstodate): The issue of determining the future of Aeroflot-Cargo will be on the Aeroflot Board's agenda on next week's meeting, but it will take time to reach a final decision.
-Also considering the current problems in today's airfreight market, the issue of Aeroflot-Cargo's future is very complex, says Lev Koshliakov, Aeroflot Dep Director General Public Affairs.
-As has already been stated, several options are open, ranging from Aeroflot-Cargo's continued existence as an fully-owned subsidiary of Aeroflot, to a merger with another party or eventual re-integration within Aeroflot.
-Aeroflot-Cargo is heavily indebted and does not contribute positively to Aeroflot's overall results, and options also include a final bankruptcy of the subsidiary.
-The decision on Aeroflot-Cargo's future will probably require some months, and probably not be made before late summer or early autumn, says Mr Koshliakov.
