May 29, 2009 (newstodate): Latvian carrier airBaltic is opening a new route between Riga, Latvia, and Dushanbe, the capital of Tajikistan.
Effective from June 1, 2009, the carrier will offer two weekly rotations between the two destination, using Boeing 737 aircraft on the route.
Representing an element in airBaltic's strategy of offering new destinations in the eastern regions of the CIS, the carrier will become the only airline in the European Union to offer nonstop flights to Dushanbe.
