May 04, 2009 (newstodate): Afghanistan is gaining increasing air connections with Europe.
Effective from June 15, 2009, the Afghan carrier Safi Airways plans to open flights between Kabul and Frankfurt, offering three weekly nonstop flights with Boeing 767-200ER aircraft.
The route is already served by another Afghan carrier, Ariana that provides two weekly flights between Frankfurt and Kabul via Istanbul with Airbus A310 aircraft since June, 2005.
