May 07, 2009 (newstodate): Meeting on May 6, 2009, Aeroflot's board again discussed the situation of Aeroflot-Cargo and its future as a subsidiary of the airline company.
The board found that the cargo subsidiary was no longer profitable due to a 30 percent fall in freight leaving the company with a debt pile.
The board concluded that all options remain open as to the future of Aeroflot-Cargo, including its liquidation through bankruptcy.
Earlier in Riga, Aeroflot's Deputy Director General Public affairs, Lev Koshliakov, told newstodate that plans are to re-integrate the cargo business with the mother company, Aeroflot, before the end of this year.
